Yosemite doesn't look good on lower resolution screens IMO. On my rMBP 13 it looks quite nice, however there is a slight loss of performance. On my MBA 11, the combination of contrasty colours, thin fonts and the small screen make it a really bad combination. Even on my 1080p monitor on my Hackintosh, it isn't 'smooth', and the font and colours just don't make it pop out. I really think you need a retina screen for Yosemite. Therefore, I'm still with Mavericks, which once you go back to, you notice is a lot more stable and fluid. Yosemite doesn't look good on lower resolution screens IMO. All OS X's are 100% from the App store and are on my Google Drive for you to have.
